Assessment has long been a tool through which we evaluate students’ learning progress. Yet experience has shown that simple analysis on students’ scoring will not provide sufficient information for us to make suitable teaching adjustments. Hence starting last school year, we have begun to dig deeper into the learning data of our assessments:
(1)Analyse the ‘Concepts’ and relevant ‘Topics’ that each question covers
(2)Create individual learning profile based on each students’ responses

Through the report, the team can now achieve the below learning and teaching targets with ease:
(1)Provide tailored support to individual students: We can identify students who are lagging behind on learning topics with a high average mastery level in the class. Based on their individual learning progress, we can provide tailored support to help these students catch up with class.
(2)Narrow down the learning gap with existing resource: We can group students based on their mastery level of each topic, allowing us to invite students to attend selective sessions of the after-school tuition.
(3)Provide targeted practice: By analysing the reason behind students mistake, we can now identify question types that they are weaker and provide targeted practice. We can then minimise unnecessary rote practicing, and make better use of our learning time instead.
每個學年我們都會透過大大小小的評估去理解學生的學習情況,找出學生對課題的掌握,單靠分數分析卻又並不完整;因此我們於上學年開始進行校本的學習數據分析,深入探討每個學生的作答情況:
(1)分析考題所考核之「概念點」及其相關「課題」;
(2)按每個學生的作答情況整合成學生的個人學習報告。

透過報告教學團隊可以從中作出以下教學調整:
(1)重點支援個別學生:按掌握率篩選課題,找出掌握未如理想的同學,按其個人進度做出指導,輔助同學追上進度。
(2)收窄學習差異:按課題掌握度把學生分組,並邀請情況未如理想之學生參加有關課題的課後補課,善用現有資源輔助更多學生。
(3)重點安排練習:了解考題的錯題原因,篩選合適的練習重點複習,減省操練。
