Gamified Learning in Exposition Writing 以過關遊戲形式學習說明文寫作 Waiting List 候補

The speech will introduce how to teach the S.1 and senior primary school students writing Chinese exposition writing. It is a game-based learning, students are set to be the brave warrior and aiming to defeat the 'product devil'. During the process, there are instructions for peer participation (learning exposition writing skills), grade upgrade system (adding experience values by completing and correcting coursework, challenge exercises), sci-fi elements, for raising learning motivations of SEN students. In addition, the products that need to be introduced by students are common in daily life, so it is easier for SEN students to mater the writing skill. This 10 lessons scheme has utilize methods of knowledge construction, concept map, small step teaching, and layered teaching method, situational teaching and figurative learning. The result of the teaching is satisfactory.

演講的主題是教授中一級/高小說明文寫作。教學以遊戲設計為背景,設定學生為勇者角色,要打倒「商品大魔王」為目的。過程中有說明同伴加入(學習說明技巧)、個人職階升級制(透過完成及修正課業、文本挑戰練習增加經驗值)、科幻元素,引起特殊學習需要的學生動機。此外,特殊學習需要的學生介紹的商品皆是生活所見,令他們較易於掌握說明技巧。本教學設計參加了香港教育大學與優質教育基金合辨的「讀寫策略發展網絡計劃(初中)」,十堂說明文寫作教學中運用了知識建構、概念圖、小步子教學、分層教學法、情境教學法、具像化學習咭的教學方法,成效令人滿意。
