Learning and Teaching Expo 2019 學與教博覽2019

This is a dissemination session by the Centre for Information Technology in Education (CITE) of the Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong with primary and secondary schools participating in the Jockey Club Self-directed learning in STEM Programme*. Through our conceptual framework and feasible modes of self-directed learning (SDL) in STEM, the theory of student-centred STEM curriculum design will be discussed. Our schools will then share their implementation experience and strategies in promoting SDL in STEM, as well as the changes and gains of their teachers and students.

*The Jockey Club Self-directed learning in STEM Project is a 30-month project (Mar 2019 – Aug 2021) funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, targeting at the upper primary (P4-6) and lower secondary (S1-3) levels in Hong Kong schools. The project aims to set up empowering Transformative Learning Leadership Network for 21st Century Schools to spearhead the development of an innovation school network with sustainable momentum for transformative self-directed learning (SDL) in STEM education that fosters 21st century skills and digital competence.

本環節是由香港大學教育學院教育應用資訊科技發展研究中心（CITE）聯同參與 賽馬會 STEM 自主學習計劃* 的中、小學分享會。我們會透過推行STEM自主學習的概念框架及可行模式，闡述以學生為中心的STEM課程設計理論要點。學校代表其後會分享他們推動STEM自主學習的實踐經驗與心得，以及師生的轉變與得著。

*賽馬會 STEM 自主學習計劃由香港賽馬會慈善信託基金捐助，是一個為期30個月（2019年3月至2021年8月）的計劃，對象為高小（P4-6）及初中（S1-3）年級。計劃旨在建立具持續變革能力的21世紀學校領導樞紐，帶領創新學校網絡的發展。參與計劃的學校在STEM教育中實現自主學習，培養學生的21世紀技能和數碼能力。
