Afshar (2001) supported the view that “international pedagogical experiences provide participants with an opportunity to acquire knowledge through action across a broad range of institutional and cultural contexts; and is invaluable to the development of a reflective planning practitioner”.
Following this view, it is crucial to recognise that learning does not just happen within a classroom, but that it is a process that can happen anytime and anywhere. With EdTech solutions, it is now easier than ever to break down classroom barriers and allow greater accessibility to education. Learners are able to learn on-the-go, with or without a facilitator, and connect to global learning opportunities that were previously unheard of.
To showcase this, we will highlight a case study of how one institution, using EdTech solutions, achieved substantial learning outcomes by relating academic content to real world context during school excursions. We will then continue to explore various other ways in which these same solutions can be used to provide even greater freedom and flexibility for both learners and educators alike in the process of learning and teaching.
